Smart Versioning...


What a waste of time watching the movie “Dabang2”? It was in fact foolishness on my part to go to the movie hall. I went with the least expectation from this Salman Khan’s movie, as it is known from the reviews to be a commercial one with ingredients spiced up for masses. Still came back disappointed. It is a complete bullshit.

Same storyline, same sets, same style, same tacky lines, same dance sequence, same movements as Dabang1, with only improved fight sequences with loads of sound effect.

This is a product that is trying to maximize revenue based on success of earlier version of the product. I can compare pretty well with what Apple has done to iPad2. Same shape, same look & feel, same features with improved display. People accepted as they were completely awed by earlier version of the product.

Many people may share my opinion on Dabang2. However the movie is a box-office hit with a simple formula i.e. versioning of a successful product, spend in marketing and staying connected with the emotions of masses.
