They say, “More you read, more you know and more
you listen, more you know”. Agree; still only reading and listening can’t help
unless we ask questions. When you read and listen, you are the only one who is
involved, a sort of solo performance, even if you are amidst a group of others.
Whereas, asking questions is different, it needs at least two individuals. And here
I am not discussing ‘asking questions’ on Internet, as I believe that it is
still searching, discovering and reading.
Asking questions in a way reflects nuances of an
active mind; curious, thinking, probing and seeking to know more. And at the
same time, it puts forth our mind, in an open and naked way out there for
others to see through; thus making some of us uncomfortable sometime. Even if
one feels uncomfortable, still one can say so and ask questions. Who does not
want to be heard?
One connects to the mind of others when one asks
questions. It helps showing interest in others seeking their viewpoints. And
inadvertently we start sharing thoughts, engaging in a conversation; thus
paving the way to the possibility of
friendship – creating a platform to be a social.
